“THE PASCHAL LAMB LIVES!”
MATTHEW 28:1-10
KEY VERSE: ”Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.” Matthew 28: 10
Introduction:
This story is one story that I can never get tired of reading about, that is the resurrection story of Jesus Christ. This is the one truth that the Christian hangs it faith. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John call attention to women who followed the ministry of Jesus Christ in a culture where women were second class citizens. They witnessed the crucifixion, they prepared spices to anoint his body and were first to arrive at the tomb. They were given instructions to report to the disciples with the good news of the resurrection of the Christ. The women played a significant role in the ministry of the savior Christ.
1 WOMEN AT THE TOMB (Matthew 28: 1-8)
Matthew tells us of Mary Magdalene and the other Mary coming to the tomb after the sabbath at dawn. An Angel greets them as they arrive. Guards that secure the tomb have fainted, seeing the angel. The women were afraid but hearing the good news, were overwhelmed with joy. He is not here, he has risen. They are given instructions to go and report the good news to the disciples. While enroute, they meet the risen Jesus, bowed at his feet and worshiped him.
2 JESUS APPEARS TO THE WOMEN (vv. 9-10)
Jesus appears to the women as they went to deliver the good news, Jesus is risen from the dead, as he said he would. Truly, that is good news!

“He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus Lives today, He walks with me and talks with me, along life’s narrow way” He lives, within my heart”
