Good evening God.

I saw the most beautiful rainbow today! I thought about the colors in the rainbow and found great comfort in them. The radiant red reminds me of the blood that Jesus shed for my sins. Jesus didn’t have to do it, but he was obedient to You. Reminiscing about the color green, I see myself lying in lush green pastures, resting and restoring my soul. The blue color glistens like still waters of a stream, cleansing me of the filth of the world and the luminous yellow color shines like the big, bright sun that serves as a lamp light leading my path to righteousness.

Genesis 9:9 tells of the covenant that You made with Noah after it rained nonstop for 40 days and 40 nights. That covenant, made to include all mankind, indicates never again will all life be destroyed by waters of a flood. The sign you gave to serve as a reminder of the covenant, was the rainbow. It’s amazing that You always give us a sign of the love that You have for us. You are the creator of all things, big or small. You are the painter with the pallet that makes our day brighter, the potter with the clay who puts our broken lives back together, and the doctor who heals our sin-sick souls.

Thank you God, for the magnificent rainbow, for it encourages us to keep our covenant to You- to humble ourselves and walk in the path that honors You. Even though we sometimes fail, You forgive us of our many sins and allow us to try again and again. What a mighty God You are!
