Dear God, it is me, again. I am sighing and feeling extremely overwhelmed right now. There is so much gloom and doom in our world. The news reports indicate frequent destructible hurricanes, earthquakes, firestorms, wars, and terroristic acts. People are committing sinful acts against each other and displaying despicable behavior that includes an abundance of hate and minute amounts of love.
There are so many people who do not know You and others who choose to ignore You. Their ignorance and disregard bring about chaos, discontent, and sickness that is unimaginable. Do they understand that everything happens for a reason? That you are trying to get our attention? Lord, help them to realize that You created man and everything upon this earth for good. We should honor and glorify You. Disobedience and disappointment are not the answer. Your word states, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore, whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. (Rom 3:1-14). For it is written in Romans 14:11, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Help them to see that You are the way, the truth and the light.
Help me Lord to lean on your word so that although I am discouraged for a moment, that I remember everything is going to be alright. I know that You can calm the stormiest seas, the blustering winds, and cool the hottest ashes from the volcanoes and fires. For You alone, hold the key that will open every door, brighten all my days, and remove all the dark clouds. Thank You Lord, for the gift – peace of mind and heart, because the peace that You give is a gift the world cannot give (John 14:27).
It is good to know Lord that You still reign, and you are merciful, even in the chaos. Goodness, I feel better already!
